Chilling out with the Izzies

In La Casa De Izzies there are three Izzies. My husband (the idea man): Israel. Our hippsterish son (I know that's not a word but it suites him) : Isaiah. And our sour patch baby girl (no lie she can go from sweet to sour in a second) : Isabel

Staying occupied and Halloween

Blogging has been sitting on the back burner for a while, but when you run a busy house full of Izzies this is bound to happen.  The kids have entered into their half-way point for this semester and they are thriving.  Isaiah let me know the other day about how he enjoys being at his new school.  He likes that it challenge him and I couldn't be more proud.  Isabel's teacher always makes me feel at ease about my baby when she informs me about the way Isabel is becoming more of a leader and an academic enthusiast.  As for me I am surviving trying to juggle school with family life.  Thank God for our awesome family that enjoy our kids company and keep them for a couple of hours so I can do homework, study, or just stay on track.  I don't remember it being this difficult the first time I went back to school, but it is what it is and I am ok with that.  I am also highly blessed with my hubby: Israel he is very supportive and motivates me to stay on track.  Although my blogging skills still suffer the main tasks at hand are going great.  Oh and Halloween was a fun brain break type of evening. The kids were able to dress up as book characters for school; Isaiah was Audi Murphy

Isabel was the female version of Huckleberry Finn, and Ellie was a pumpkin.  The kids got a free "treat" at Jamaba Juice as an after school snack.  By the time Isabel went trick or treating she was done with her straw hat and someone asked her if she was a hobo--- oh No! Isaiah opted to pass out candy with grandma, he was not amused.  We ended the night with scary movies, cousins, pizza and friends.  Which by the way Oculus was more of a suspenseful movie than horror.

School update

Busted and owning it…………..

I have completely ignored our blog for way too long. What can I say we are a busy “little herd”. So many changes going on its crazy to think that the fall is upon us and I am bearly getting back to blogging…… oh well no time for regrets. That’s the end of that, but here is the quick synopsis of what’s been going on.  So I am on week two of being a newly stay at home mom and student. I am a little rusty on both, but I can own my flaws and make the most out of any craziness that both of these task may entail.  So far I have been purging away unnecessary clutter, organizing, writing, reading, commuting, and potty training Ellie.  Isabel is so proud of her new school and actually gets ready with our hesitation, Isaiah is adjusting to middle school, Israel is proud and excited for me (about school and being home), and I am adjusting to this new chapter in our lives.  I am happy to say that all of my Izzy’s support mommy going back to school, thank goodness its only six credits this semester.  My first day was a bit overwhelming. I had a can do attitude with a long to do list so needless to say I should have taken it one bit at a time, but I've recovered.

Lazy evening and mom reads

Working with children leaves me with low energy from time to time, but today I was drained and ran to the kitchen and whipped up some thing quick & yummy. After that we started the Brooklyn 99 series with kiddos............. they laughed so hard. Anyhow soon after it was time to brush teeth and get some sleep for them it is.  Israel and I cuddled up to a documentary we watch them pretty often. Ellie liked having some undivided cuddle time too. Then I moved on to the ultimate sluggish activity of all I got on Facebook and caught up on some actual reading.  These were some of the interesting mom articles some of my friends posted. I normally don't get to read a whole article, but being that the kiddos were already in bed I was able to read with out interruption.

1st read:
This article on "being grounded" really helped me make a mental note as to how to handle the "wonder years" with are the tween and adolescent era that we are embarking on. Tweens now teens just around the corner.

Well here it is: http://themetapicture.com/probably-the-most-clever-mom-ever/

2nd read:
Hits home for me I was a preemie and thus this article is about a preemie. It highlights many things that are close to my heart and relevant in our lives.

3rd read:
Some truth in our parenting perspective is held in this article. Brief synopsis is a young mothers "old school" parenting belief and her view on "modern parenting". I must admit I do agree on most of the article.

Happy Mothers Day (week) everyone.

Never a dull moment

This has been my main companion as I have been sick twice and now pulled a muscle in my lower back. Just wanted to give her a shout out.
Needless to say her shift is done. Now we just await my Izzy. That is all for this post. I'm going back to bed.

Isaiah-isams and memory lane

Small talk with the boy:

As we drive by a family walking their dog the dog tries to run out into the street.
Isaiah:  Look at that dog saunter into the street.
Me: Are you using your vocabulary words sporadically?
Isaiah: Yes I am disclosing my new vocabulary.

I am so proud of that boy! He cracks me up.  At his age I was bearly realizing the whole "i" before "e" rule. I was a slow learner. Turns out I had dyslexia. My mom didn't believe in getting me tested...........she was to worried about me getting medicated over nothing. Of course she didn't realize that you get meds for ADHD. OH mom! I love her. She was just misinformed and I was just a child.

Playing catch up.
Lately we have been celebrating birthdays, getting sick (mom only!), and having fun around town.

Breezy day makes for a perfect kite weather.

underconstruction

I've been slacking  big time on this blog. It's my first and I don't know all the ins and outs just yet. Sorry!  I have just set up my Photoshop. so I can watermark all my pictures. Please stick around for a glimpse of all the silly day to day antics that are my reality.
These are my Izzies after a long work/school day.  This photo was taken a few weeks ago but sums up the gits of my blog. #DQthat'swhatIlikeaboutTexas

New year New Blogger

This year I've decided to leap into the officially leap into the blogging community. I have no main category per say. I am a wife, mother, preschool teacher, Christian, baker, keep it clean eating/living, wanna be runner type of gal. Currently I have decided to sign up for a 5k so I actually stick to running. It's the Color run. Just checked my confirmation e mail.  The best part is that my two side kicks will be there too my Hubby and my sister.
